Andrew Poor

Andrew F. Poor is on the part-time faculty of the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. He is also the Assoc. Dir. of Bands at Starr’s Mill H.S in Fayetteville, GA.

Dr. Poor holds the DME degree and MM degree in Trpt Perf. from the University of Cincinnati and the BME degree from the Univ. of Florida.

Dr. Poor’s ensembles have given several important performances including, the 17th International Cultural Festival in Tottori, Japan, and the 1997 FMEA State Conference. He also conducted the Rising Starr MS Symphonic Band’s performance of his composition, Acceptance, at the 2008 Midwest Clinic.

Dr. Poor is a National Board Certified Teacher and appears in 6 editions of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. In addition, he teaches at Braelinn Elementary in Peachtree City, GA, and assists at Rising Starr Middle School.
